Is your face feeling the winter blues? With the harsh winds, dry air, and cold temperatures, I think most people’s skin can use a refresh! Dull, tired, dry skin also looks more aged. If any of those descriptions sound like how you feel about your skin, check out our blog on the right facial for you and then keep reading to learn about microneedling.

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation and skin-plumping treatment, where the focus is on naturally stimulating collagen production in the skin. As we age and as our skin is exposed to pollution and chemicals, the skin becomes damaged. Collagen, a naturally occurring ingredient in the skin, can be used to make the skin healthy, voluminous, and elastic again.

In medical microneedling, tiny needles are used to create small punctures on the skin, stimulating the collagen in your skin. This will fool the body and jump-start collagen production in the skin, which will, in turn, regenerate new dermal cells and give volume and smoothness to the skin. This treatment is minimally invasive, and the punctures are made only on the top layer of the skin. Microneedling will help with fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring but is a no-go for clients with extensive sun damage or pigmentation as the heat from the tool will cause a reverse effect.

Microneedling is minimally invasive, and often, a numbing agent may be used to ensure that your treatment will be pain-free. The process of a microneedling treatment starts a month before you come into Majestic Aesthetics and Wellness for your treatment. For microneedling to be the most effective, you’ll need (and want) to be applying a serum based on Vitamin A, Vitamin C, or hyaluronic acid once a day for a month before your appointment. Don’t be overwhelmed; we will guide you to the best product for your skin. What matters the most to us is that your skin is as prepared and healthy as possible to produce the collagen it needs to after your microneedling treatment.

Let’s talk about what “microneedling near me” really looks like. First, the fact you’re reading this blog shows me that you really care about the best and safest treatment possible. As mentioned earlier, at your consultation, you’ll be given the right serum to set your skin up for the best microneedling treatment. Then when it comes time for your appointment, you can be at ease that microneedling really is worth it.

Microneedling does, in fact, involve needles (quite a few, actually). During the treatment, your aesthetician will use a medical-grade derma roller or a Skin Pen (the only FDA-approved device for microneedling). A skin pen has 14 needles in a pen form tool. The needles go up and down to create trauma sites to the skin sending all your warrior cells to the surface to help heal the skin. People often ask if the skin bleeds during microneedling, and sometimes there will be very light bleeding due to the pricks of the needles from the skin pen, but the bleeding will stop within a few minutes at most. Microneedling rejuvenates your skin in a lot of ways. It also will reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles, skin spots, pigmentation, discoloration, scars, stretch marks, and large open pores. After the treatment is done, the collagen will be produced because the microneedling treatments will give your skin elasticity and tightness.

Check out these microneedling facials we offer here at Majestic Aesthetics and Wellness.

Vampire Facial- This facial uses a skin pen to help combat fine lines, wrinkles, and increased collagen production. It uses your own blood to revitalize your skin. At the start of your Skin Pen, one of our nurses will draw your blood for platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and we then spin the blood to separate your plasma-rich platelets (warriors and healers). After we have reached the clinical endpoint, we will apply the PRP, essentially your own medicine, to the skin to help with healing and correcting.

Microneedling Facial- This facial uses a medical-grade derma roller rather than the Skin Pen. This facial is the “go-to facial” for acne scarring s there is no extra heat involved from the tool. This facial is designed to get blood up to the surface of the skin, bringing growth factors with it. Growth factors are specialized cells (warrior cells) waiting for your body to give them a clean-up job. We then use a 2.5% TCA Cool Peel to neutralize the skin. We then apply exosomes; this gives you more growth factors and healing properties. It’s a man-made serum-like plasma-rich platelet (PRP) that we would pull from your blood. We then put you under red light therapy to help drive those exosomes further into the skin. It will also help reduce redness and inflammation.

RF Microneedling – Radio Frequency Microneedling uses 24 needles to deliver radiofrequency heat to tighten facial skin and stimulate collagen. This facial is ideal for people whose skin is losing its elasticity, those losing collagen, or those wanting to take preventative measures in keeping their skin healthy and tight. The radiofrequency energy destroys old and diseased cells and reduces the appearance of marks and scars. This is done because it targets dermal tissue deep in the skin where the long-term damage actually exists.

A microneedling facial will absolutely rejuvenate your skin, making you look and feel younger and healthier! Click here to choose your facial type and schedule your consultation today!
